Sabah Business Hub is a hyperlocal directory for Sabah, Malaysia — cafés, workshops, clinics, tourism operators, and everyday services from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan. We're here to make it easier for customers to find local businesses that actually serve their needs, and for those businesses to be found by the people looking for them.

Why we started

Sabah is home to thousands of amazing businesses, but finding them online is still a challenge. Customers often rely on outdated listings, scraped data, or generic maps that don't tell you whether a business is still open, still trusted, or still the right fit.

At the same time, small and family-owned businesses struggle to get discovered online — the tools built for big companies rarely work for a single-shopfront café in Penampang or a freelance photographer in Tawau.

We're building Sabah Business Hub so real Sabahan businesses can get the visibility they deserve, and customers can trust that what they see is what they get.

No data scraping

We don't dump listings from search engines or resell scraped databases. Every business here is either founder-invited or has claimed its own listing.

Community-driven

Businesses are added manually or referred by the community. If it's on Sabah Hub, someone real vouched for it.

Genuine and active

We focus on businesses that are actively serving customers today — not defunct entries that clog up other directories.

Owner-verified

Business owners can claim their listing by uploading their SSM certificate or business licence. We review every claim before it goes live with the Verified checkmark.

How it works

Find your listing
Search Sabah Hub for your business. If you have one on file already, you'll see it in the directory.

Claim it and prove ownership
Click through the claim link (we email these to businesses whose email is on file), sign in with a one-time email link, and upload your SSM certificate or business licence. Takes about 30 seconds.

Get Verified and start editing
We review your claim within 1–2 working days. Once approved, you get the free Verified checkmark and can edit your listing anytime — description, hours, contact details, cover image, everything.

Is Sabah Business Hub free?

Yes — listing your business, claiming it, and getting the Verified checkmark are all free. Featured Placement (higher search ranking) is our paid product, but it's optional. Every real Sabah business gets a free presence.

What's the difference between Verified and Featured?

Verified is the free trust checkmark you earn by claiming your listing and proving ownership. Featured Placement is a paid subscription that ranks your listing above non-Featured ones in search and category results — think of it like promoted placement. Verified stays free forever.

How do I know a Verified business is real?

Every Verified business has submitted an SSM certificate or business licence that we reviewed. The checkmark isn't for sale — it's earned by proof of ownership. This is the whole point of the directory: what you see is what you get.

Some listings show partial contact info or a warning. Why?

Those listings haven't been claimed by their owners yet, so we can't confirm the contact details are accurate. We hide phone, WhatsApp, and email for unverified listings and mark them clearly. Once the owner claims the listing, all their details go live.
